Avondmuziek Kethel
4 October, 17:00
This concert, part of the ‘Avondmuziek’ series at the Dorpskerk in Kethel, is – just like our summer concert at the Koningkerk – inspired by our upcoming choir trip to Canterbury. In the beautiful Dorpskerk, you can therefore listen to the Magnificat and the Nunc Dimittis by the Dutch composer Hayo Boerema, organist at the Laurenskerk in Rotterdam. The choir will perform both a cappella works of English origin and several pieces with organ accompaniment. The programme also features three different arrangements of the Lord’s Prayer, each one more beautiful than the last. The audience is warmly invited to join in singing the final song of this concert: the magnificent English hymn ‘O God our help in ages past’, concluding the choral work ‘O how amiable are thy dwellings’ by the English composer Vaughan Williams.
Admission is free, with a collection at the exit.
